Mayo Clinic in Phoenix, Arizona is an NCI-designated comprehensive cancer center which is poised for rapid growth. Breast Cancer and Gynecologic malignancies are designated as a key strategic priorities, so we are seeking ambitious Academic Oncologists who want to be a part of a top ranked and growing faculty. As the only NCI designated cancer center in one of the Nation’s largest metro areas, Mayo Clinic will provide the successful applicant with many opportunities to contribute to existing efforts, grow new programs, and pursue a personalized career path related to Women’s Cancer research and treatment.

The Division of Hematology and Medical Oncology at Mayo Clinic Arizona includes over forty medical oncologists, hematologists, and laboratory researchers offering state-of-the art care. The Division is known for its extensive involvement in the preclinical and clinical development of new cancer therapies as well as the identification and translation of cancer biomarkers. The division also supports an ACGME-accredited fellowship in Hematology/Oncology and the Mayo Medical School in Arizona. Oncologists in the division collaborate extensively with other basic, translational and clinical scientists within the Mayo Clinic Women’s Cancer Program.

The Women’s Cancer Program are active participants in the Alliance for Clinical Trials in Oncology and the NCI Experimental Therapeutics-Clinical Trials Network (ET-CTN). The program also includes two separate NCI Specialized Program in Research Excellence (SPORE) grants including the Mayo Breast Cancer SPORE and the Mayo Ovarian SPORE. Clinical trials are conducted in collaboration with the Alliance for Clinical Trials in Oncology, the Translational Breast Cancer Research Consortium (TBCRC), the NCI Experimental Therapeutics Clinical Trials Network (UM1) and Academic and Community Cancer Research United (ACCRU) clinical trial network.

The ideal candidate for this position is a board-certified/board-eligible medical oncologist who will support the clinical practice and the clinical research programs. The position includes participation in education efforts for the ACGME-accredited hematology/oncology fellowship.
