Our Joint Commission Accredited health system includes six family practice/pediatric health centers, five dental centers, over forty medical and dental providers, school-based wellness and migrant health programs, for a total of nearly 200 team members. We are opening a new state of the art 19,000 square foot facility in Denton in the Fall of 2019. Our mission is to provide access to exceptional, comprehensive, and integrated care for all.

Join Choptank Community Health’s dedicated team leading our experienced support staff providing services to a very full and dynamic rage of patients from newborn to geriatrics. Choptank’s Chief Medical Officer contributes to the successful achievement of the Choptank Community Health System (CCHS) mission and strategic initiatives by providing leadership, oversight, evaluation and direction for the medical provider group. With a focus on medical provider recruitment and retention planning, the CMO assures patient access to care within a quality assurance process and is responsible for overseeing all health center activities that affect the delivery of health services to the community. The Chief Medical Officer will have a faculty appointment within the University of Maryland School of Medicine, Department of Family and Community Medicine - and be engaged with the collaborative Residency Education Program developing between Choptank and the Department of Family and Community Medicine.

CCHS is searching for an experienced, ambitious health care professional who is hands-on, leads by example, and can motivate staff to deliver results that further the mission of the organization.

The position requires:
  • A Physician with Board certification and valid license to practice medicine in the State of Maryland.
  • Current valid DEA license and certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS).
  • 5 years of experience in the management of FQHCs or similar outpatient medical facilities.
  • 5 years of experience as a medical provider in a primary care delivery system.
  • 3 years in senior level/director position with supervisory responsibilities.
  • 3 years in Joint Commission accreditation team leadership position.
