The Iowa City Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care System (VA) in conjunction with the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics (UIHC) Division of Cardiology in the Department of Internal Medicine is seeking a full-time Interventional Cardiologist to be appointed 5/8ths at the VA and 3/8ths at UIHC. All applicants must meet all necessary requirements of appointment at the University of Iowa, Carver College of Medicine.

The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, evaluating and treating patients with diverse cardiology diseases. Applicants will be required to have advanced Interventional Cardiology fellowship training, experience and potential for academic achievement. Training and experience in high-risk PCI including CTO, ASD/PFO closure, and cardiac echo and CT imaging is required. The incumbent will also provide consultative and other inpatient services, as well as outpatient services at the ICVAHCS, including nights and weekends, and required night call.

This is a full-time position that offers an opportunity to act as a primary cardiology provider for a large population with diverse cardiac diseases in addition to interventional cardiology. You will be a valued member of our team of highly motivated, energetic cardiologists and midlevel providers and interact with cardiology fellows. In addition to general cardiology clinics, our cardiology services include echocardiography, invasive and interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, and a heart failure clinic.

Work Schedule: Shifts vary according to service line need. Weekends and Holidays may be required.
