The Gastrointestinal and Minimally Invasive Surgery [GMIS] division of The Oregon Clinic is seeking a full-time colon and rectal surgeon to join our growing practice.  GMIS is a thriving surgical division of the Oregon Clinic in Portland, Oregon. Our 15 surgeons make up a multispecialty practice that includes colorectal, endocrine, foregut, general, and hepatobiliary surgery.
The 5 surgeons that make up the colorectal group, Mark Whiteford, MD, FASCRS, David O'Brien, MD, FASCRS, Rehan Ahmad, MD, FRCS, Amanda Hayman, MD, MPH, FASCRS, and Maria Ximena Kiely MD, MPH, provide surgical and nonsurgical treatment for colorectal cancers, inflammatory bowel disease, diverticulitis, pelvic floor and diverse anorectal pathologies.  Our physicians are regional and national leaders in advanced minimally invasive techniques dedicated to teaching and research. They practice advanced laparoscopic, robotic and TEM approaches, including taTME.  As integral parts of the Providence Cancer Institute, our colon and rectal surgeons do high-volume rectal cancer work and are engaged in clinical trials as well as a robust multidisciplinary tumor board in an academic community practice setting.  Our colorectal division serves as faculty of and the primary clinical site for Oregon’s only ACGME-approved colon and rectal surgery fellowship.

The colorectal practice has grown significantly over the last few years and we are expanding to meet volume demand.  Emergency department call is limited to colorectal only.  The ideal candidate has an advanced minimally invasive surgical skill set as well as a demonstrated commitment to research, teaching, and program building.  GMIS is a dynamic group of physicians and staff dedicated to meeting the needs of our patients whilst enjoying the amenities of the beautiful northwest city and surrounding area of Portland, Oregon.

Requirements:
