Retina-Vitreous Surgeons of Central New York, PC is a large regional referral retinal practice.  Several partners are scaling back or nearing retirement age. We currently seek an additional highly skilled and motivated BE/BC vitreo-retinal surgeon for a position rapidly leading to full and equal partnership.

The practice offers an opportunity for immediate and sustained medical and surgical volume as a result of steady growth over 40 years.

This is the major retina referral center for all of Central New York, covering a vast geographic area -- stretching from Northern Pennsylvania in the South all the way up into Canada in the North-- with a network of several hundred of referring ophthalmologists and optometrists.  Therefore, the practice sees an enormous surgical volume with tremendous pathology. The physicians also run the retina service at SUNY Upstate and the Syracuse VA.  Such academic affiliations facilitate active involvement in resident and medical student education.  The practice diagnoses and treats the full gamut of retinal diseases from rhegmatogenous retinal detachments and vein occlusions to severe ocular trauma and ROP.

Additionally, the practice is extremely fair and collegial. Since its inception 40 years ago, the practice has never had a physician leave (except for retirement).  There is a one-year path to partnership, which every physician has accepted.

Call is shared equally by the physicians, as is time spent at the two satellite offices (1 day a week). Surgery is performed at a state of the art ASC as well as a regional referral hospital with both Alcon and DORC vitrectomy units.

State-of-the-art diagnostic services are offered at our main office location in Syracuse and our satellite offices in Watertown and Binghamton, NY. A highly experienced staff includes RNs and certified ophthalmic photographers.  The practice is actively involved in multiple national clinical trials, with a fully capable clinical trials unit.
