The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Florida College of Medicine is currently recruiting 4 physicians including Hospitalists for the Division of General Obstetrics and Gynecology Specialists. The Division is seeking experienced physicians who are highly motivated, forward thinking and passionate about advancing the field of women’s health and who are committed to an academic career in general obstetrics and gynecology. Responsibilities include direct clinical care and research, as well as teaching medical students, residents, and fellows. The ability to apply creativity to program growth and development in service of these missions is highly desirable, as is the ability to work collaboratively. Candidates should be comfortable in providing a broad spectrum of obstetrical and gynecologic care, including gynecologic surgery, to medically complex patients. Focus areas of special interest in women’s health care are encouraged and supported. Academic rank and tenure status will be determined based on credentials and experience. Compensation is competitive and we offer a generous benefits package.

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology clinics serve our community with more than 50,000 patient visits and 3,000 deliveries a year. Consistently ranked in the top 50 nationally, the Department is committed to a highly personalized approach to patient care. We combine exceptional patient care with a strong commitment to teaching future physicians and exploring research questions to push the science of medicine to its leading edge.  For more information about the department and our team, please visit http://obgyn.ufl.edu.

As a member of a dedicated team, you will provide care as an obstetrician/gynecologist at UF Health Shands Hospital, see patients at various clinics, and perform major and minor gynecologic surgeries. You also will share responsibility for rotating night and weekend call.

The College of Medicine plays an important role in the education of medical students, resident physicians and fellows through its collaboration with the UF Health Physicians practices, UF Health Shands Hospital, and the Malcolm Randall Veterans Affairs Medical Center. As a faculty member in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, you will play a pivotal role in advancing our educational mission by teaching junior medical students, serving on hospital, medical and department committees, and participating in other department activities, including rounds, special lectures and postgraduate courses. In addition, faculty members are expected to participate in scholarly activities, including research and quality initiatives as appropriate for experience and interests.
