Hospital Medicine Provider/Associate Medical Director at Catholic Medical Center Physician Practice Associates in Manchester, NH:

Engage in direct patient care activities and medical/clinical practice as the principal component of the overall professional responsibility within the Department. Patient care activities at the Catholic Medical Center and Monadnock Community Hospital (MCH) will include, but are not limited to:

  • Admission, assessment, evaluation, diagnostic determination, on-going treatment and clinical management, necessary referral for consultation, care planning and modification, medications/therapeutic orders, transfer authorization, risk assessment, and, when appropriate, determination of readiness and planning for discharge for inpatients.
  • Direct contact and consultation with patients and when permitted, with family members, friends, advocates, and others to ensure effective communication of patient status and care plans.
  • Appropriate and on-going communications with ambulatory primary care physicians who routinely manage the care of patients currently in the hospital.
  • Day-to-day patient contact/rounding/care management that actively encourages and includes input from all members of the patient care team.

As the Associate Medical Director, responsible for the following:

  • Hold regular documented meetings, approximately ten per calendar year, for hospitalists at MCH.
  • Meet approximately monthly with MCH Chief Medical Officer and approximately monthly with Chief Nursing Officer to discuss current status of Hospital Medicine program and opportunities for improvement.
  • Attend MCH medical staff meetings.
  • Assist in the professional development and growth of each Hospital Medicine provider based at MCH.
  • Develop and coordinate provider scheduling to ensure efficiency and maximum productivity of service provided to patients of MCH.
  • Receive, investigate, and settle grievances or questions involving hospital medicine physicians in conjunction with MCH policies and procedures.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of continuous quality improvement programs.

Requirements:

  • MD or DO degree.
  • Residency in Internal Medicine.
  • Board certified or eligible to be certified in Internal Medicine.
  • NH MD license or eligibility.
  • Two (2) years of experience in a management position in a hospital setting. In lieu of two (2) years of experience, employer will accept Master’s degree in Management, MBA or related field.

Will work at Catholic Medical Center in Manchester, NH and Monadnock Community Hospital in Peterborough, NH.
