Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center has an opportunity for a lead Palliative Care physician to join an established and growing inpatient Palliative Care Team with strong community support.

This is a full-time, employed position at Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center. With high quality services and the latest medical technology our 378-bed facility is the premier referral center for
the region providing superb medical care with genuine human compassion.

The responsibilities of the position include (but not limited to):

  • Provide consultation in palliative care, symptom management and supportive care for the patient.
  • Assist in the development of protocols and standards of care.
  • Participate on the Ethics Committee.
  • Collaborate with comprehensive interdisciplinary teams.
  • Assist with continued development of palliative care program.

Education: Graduate of an accredited medical school. BC/BE in Internal Medicine and successful completion of training in an ACGME accredited Palliative Care fellowship program required.

License / Certification: MD or DO licensed by the Oregon Board of Medical Examiners; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certified from American Heart Association; Board Certified / Eligible in Palliative Care by the American Board of Medical Specialties; Must obtain and maintain medical staff membership and appropriate privileges; Must be eligible as a provider for Medicare, Medicaid, and other federal health programs; Physician shall meet all qualifications to participate in hospital’s programs for professional malpractice and other liability coverage.

Experience: Advanced analytical skills regarding evaluation and treatment; Ability to use professional approach to problem solving during stressful situations; Communication with others shall reflect a positive attitude and enthusiasm; Behavior exemplifies organizational philosophy; Will to attend specialty education when requested.
