The Department of Orthopedics at Denver Health is recruiting for a full-time Orthopedic Total Joint Surgeon. The successful candidate will have completed an orthopedic surgery residency and be BC/BE in Orthopedics.  Completion of Total Joint fellowship is required. The position includes providing 1:8 resident supported call coverage of our busy Level I Regional Trauma Center.  Our service is available for emergency orthopedic trauma care 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.  Interest in either complex revision/infection or hip preservation in addition to primary hip and knee arthroplasty would be advantageous. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a desire to work in an academic environment.

Requirements

Education 1. Graduation from an Accredited Medical School and completed Accredited Residency Programs and fellowships for specialist, equivalent. 2. Equivalent training for those Physicians who are not U.S. residency trained 3. The MSEC can grant privileges on a one-on-one review.

Experience Experience requirements vary depending on specialty and position. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 1. Knowledge of and ability to apply professional medical principles, procedures and techniques. 2. Thorough knowledge of pharmacological agents used in patient treatment. 3. Able to effectively manage and direct medical staff support activities while providing quality medical care. 4. Able to receive detailed information through oral communications; express or exchange ideas by verbal communications. 5. Excellent written and verbal communications, listening, and social skills. 6. Able to interact effectively with people of varied educational, socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds, skill levels and value systems. 7. Performs in a tactful and professional manner. 8. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. 9. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

Computers and Technology 1. Knowledge of Microsoft Office 2. EPIC

Certificates, Licenses and Registration 1. Medical license to practice in State of Colorado. 2. Physician Board certification in professional medical discipline. 3. Appropriate certifications designated by department i.e. BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, Etc.
