The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Stanford University seeks a board certified/eligible orthopaedic surgeon specializing in arthritis and adult reconstruction to join the department at the Assistant or Associate Professor level on the Medical Center Line (MCL) or on the Clinician Educator Line (CE).

  • The major criteria for appointment for faculty in the Medical Center Line shall be excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, clinical teaching, scholarly activity that advances clinical medicine and institutional service appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill.
  • The major criterion for appointment in the Clinician Educator Line is excellence in the overall mix of clinical care and clinical teaching that advances clinical medicine appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill. While not required, Clinician Educators may also engage in scholarly activities and/or perform in an administrative role.

Academic line/rank will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate. We expect the successful candidate to provide surgical and non-surgical care for orthopaedic patients and (for MCL) produce scholarly work in the candidate’s major areas of interest, as well as teach and mentor residents, fellows, and medical students. The successful applicant should be eligible for a California Medical License.
