Hospital Medicine Director- Plainview/Syosset Hospital

Northwell Health s Medicine Service Line is seeking a Hospital Medicine Director for Plainview & Syosset Hospitals. These two hospitals are covered by a unified hospital medicine program. The Director will work with departmental and organizational leadership to facilitate operations and strategic planning that promote continuous improvement within our clinical and educational enterprises. Leadership experience is required.

Plainview Hospital is an acute care community hospital with 219 beds that treats patients with a wide range of medical, surgical, and gynecological conditions. It has a same-day surgery program and is also the site of one of the Don Monti Cancer Centers. Plainview also has a Family Medicine training program. The hospital was recently recognized by the Joint Commission for achieving excellence in performance on its accountability measures for heart attack, heart failure, pneumonia and surgical care.

Plainview is one of only 405 hospitals in the United States to earn this distinction, which represents the top 14 percent of Joint Commission-accredited hospitals. Syosset hospital is home to a large volume of advanced orthopedic and spine surgical cases as well as general medical patients. It also has a strong commitment to community health. Its 136 beds include a well-equipped special care unit and a psychiatric wing. The Emergency Department treats more than 15,000 patients each year and has a trauma unit and eight treatment beds. Both hospitals have robust ancillary support and all subspecialty services.

Syosset Hospital provides advanced medical treatments by skilled, compassionate professionals and support staff who are trained and certified in the latest medical procedures. Our 136 beds include a well-equipped special care unit and a psychiatric wing. Syosset's Emergency Department treats more than 15,000 patients each year and has a trauma unit and eight treatment beds.
