Assistant/Associate Professor - Neurosurgical Oncology and Radiosurgery
The LSU Health Shreveport Department of Neurosurgery is accepting applications for the position of Assistant/Associate Professor with subspecialty interest in neurosurgical oncology and radiosurgery. The interested candidate should have completed an ACGME accredited neurosurgical residency and be interested in joining a busy clinical tumor program. Fellowship training is preferred but not required for this position. The candidate should be facile in the surgical management of gliomas, surgical management of metastatic tumors, radiosurgery using the Gamma Knife, laser interstitial thermal therapy (LITT), awake surgical techniques, and intraoperative mapping. The position would allow the ability to become the Director of Neurosurgical Oncology, if the appropriate training and qualifications are present. The candidate will be joining a team of experienced cranial surgeons who will facilitate the development of the applicant’s practice in neurosurgical oncology. The interested applicant would also work closely with the neuro-oncology and radiation oncology teams. The applicant should have a strong interest in teaching and working with our excellent team of residents. They will also be expected to perform clinical, translational and/or basic science research. Anatomic research opportunities will also be readily available. Compensation will be based upon the level of training and experience. If hired, the applicant will have the complete support of the chairman and faculty to help develop a robust clinical practice.
