Open Rank Faculty/Physician Surgeon

The University of Illinois Health Sciences System, Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery in the Department of Surgery is seeking a full time adult Open Rank Faculty (non-tenure track) as a Cardiothoracic Surgeon.  

The successful candidate will have significant experience in all aspects of cardiac surgery, including coronary bypass surgery, minimally invasive cardiothoracic surgery, valve replacement and repair, thoracic aortic surgery, and ventricular assist devices.  Experience in robotic surgery and endovascular aortic.

Academic appointment rank will be determined commensurate with the applicant’s prior experience and academic record. This position will also hold a physician surgeon appointment.

The successful candidate will be reporting to the Chief of the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery and the Head of the Department of Surgery and will be working in close collaboration with an expanding clinical service on campus and Northwest Indiana. 

Applicants must be board eligible or board certified in cardiothoracic surgery. They should have demonstrated excellence in teaching, research and clinical care as evidenced by experience and  outcomes. Applicants must also be eligible for licensure in the State of Illinois and Indiana.
