The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Howard University, College of Medicine is currently undergoing significant expansion to provide comprehensive services in Women’s Health in Washington DC.  We are recruiting multiple full-time faculty members at the level of Assistant Professor/Associate Professor to join this exciting jeanery. These positions are:

  • General Obstetrician(s) and Gynecologist(s)
  • Minimal Invasive Gynecological Surgeon

Primary responsibilities include direct patient care and resident supervision in the ambulatory clinics, operating room, Labor and Delivery and at the Faculty Practice. In addition, a commitment to teaching residents and medical students is required. Scholarly activity involving clinical research, quality improvement projects, and other publications is strongly encouraged.

The Hospital recently acquired dual-console Xi Da Vinci system with simulation package. The University and College of Medicine also provide ample opportunities in career and faculty development.  Below are some of the highlights:

  • NIH-HOWARD Intramural Research Collaboration, which support Early Stage/Junior faculty through mentorship, research collaboration, & equipment use.  Qualified applicants, ultimately, will become seasoned investigators and acquire skills necessary to acquire external grants and increase scholarly productivity.

  • The Georgetown-Howard Universities Center for Clinical and Translational Sciences is founded upon the principles of the NIH Clinical and Translational Science Award (CTSA) Program

Candidates must be board eligible or board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology. MIS surgeon is required to complete MIS Fellowship and be eligible for subspecialty certification. Salary and academic rank are commensurate with experience, and, qualifications that meet the criteria established by the School of Medicine Appointment, Promotion, and Tenure Committee.
