Duke Neurosurgery and The Tisch Brain Tumor Center, in concert with Duke Cancer Institute, is seeking clinical investigators with a strong background in laboratory-based research and experience in clinical investigation. Candidates should be interested in conducting pre-clinical studies, either in their own laboratory or jointly with other laboratory-based investigators. Applicants should have a MD or MD/PhD degree. Fellowship in Neurosurgical Oncology would be a plus, but is not required. Clinical care responsibility will be limited to allow substantial effort in research. A funded research or clinical fellowship are possible as part of this position.

A national leader in research, patient care, and education, Duke Neurosurgery is experiencing an increased demand for service due to the tremendous growth in the Raleigh/Durham area.  Hired candidates will help drive our efforts to continue providing Duke Neurosurgery patients with high quality compassionate care.  The research activities of the Neuro-Oncology Program are supported by government grants and contracts, foundation and agency awards, and philanthropy and is currently funded at a level of over $17 million in direct costs annually. 

Duke Neurosurgery offers generous compensation and benefits including college tuition assistance for dependent children.  Faculty rank and compensation will be commensurate with training and experience.  Start-up packages to support both clinical and wet or dry laboratory efforts will be provided.
