Saint Alphonsus Medical Group (SAMG) has an excellent full time employment opportunity for a Board Certified or Board Eligible Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon who will practice at Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, Idaho.

The well-qualified candidate will commit to a team-based approach to patient care and work closely with three existing orthopedic trauma-trained surgeons as well as other surgeons in the Saint Alphonsus Trauma Program.

The Saint Alphonsus Trauma Program is supported by a variety of specialists including: 24/7 Anesthesia, Neurosurgery, Orthopedics, in-house Interventional Radiology, Vascular and Cardiothoracic Surgery, fellowship trained Intensivists, Cardiologists, Neurologists, Wound and Hyperbaric (Sechrist Monoplace 4100 chamber), ED, ICU, CVICU, NICU, Hospitalist, Pediatric Hospitalists, Diabetes, Inpatient Pain, Palliative Care and more.  

The schedule is a traditional workweek and periodic weekends, plus call and hospital duties including procedures, rounding, consults and clinic. Call for this opportunity is 1:4, equitable share includes evenings and weekends. Trauma Service includes five Physician Assistants.

Requirements for this opportunity include:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree.
  • Successful completion of an ACGME accredited orthopedic residency program.
  • Board certification through the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery (ABOS) or the American Osteopathic Board of Orthopedic Surgery (AOBOS) or obtain such certification within 3 years of employment.
  • Orthopedic Trauma Fellowship preferred with keen ability to treat and manage complex orthopedic pelvic and acetabular fractures in addition to general acute orthopedic conditions.
  • Member in good standing of the Orthopedic Trauma Association.
  • Obtain Idaho medical licensure and granting of privileges at SARMC and other health system affiliated hospitals as needed; valid controlled substance registration with Board of Pharmacy and DEA.
