Implementation Science Research

Department of Healthcare Policy and Research

Weill Cornell Medicine, Cornell University

New York City, New York

The Department of Healthcare Policy and Research at Weill Cornell Medicine in New York City is recruiting for a professor or associate professor with a focus on implementation science research conducted in healthcare delivery systems. The Department has a pioneering research team focused on healthcare delivery science, health informatics, health services research, and health economics. We have significant data resources including the New York City Clinical Data Research Network, which includes clinical data from six New York City healthcare delivery systems (Columbia, Mount Sinai, Montefiore, New York Presbyterian, New York University and Weill Cornell Medicine) and 3 FQHCs, resulting in a secure data repository consisting of clinical records for 22 million patients and 300 million encounters. There is a state-of-the-art computing environment, the Data Core, that serves as a secure platform for data analysis and includes extensive state and national data available for reuse.

The Department has senior collaborators with well-funded research portfolios.  In addition, there are multiple outstanding faculty, postdoctoral and research staff collaborators in the Department and across the institution, and the Department has close collaborations with Cornell University in Ithaca, Cornell Tech, and NYP- one of the largest healthcare systems in the country and leader in national effort to transform healthcare delivery. The ideal candidate will have a strong background and an externally-funded research portfolio in implementation science. Examples of areas of focus include telemedicine/mobile health, and healthcare innovation and technology.  The candidate may be an MD or PhD with advanced training in relevant fields such as health services research, healthcare policy, or healthcare informatics.

Interested applicants should submit a letter highlighting the specific reasons for their interest in Weill Cornell, their research interests, their relevant experience including experience leading research teams, and their career goals; a curriculum vita; and names of 3 professional references electronically to: Heather Johnson - hlj2001@med.cornell.edu
