The Division of Pulmonary Medicine, Department of Internal Medicine, at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine, Springfield, Illinois, is seeking a full time Pulmonologist at the faculty rank of Assistant Professor of Clinical Internal Medicine.  The individual in this role will provide clinical care to patients suffering from pulmonary disease, including the responsibility for ICU and Pulmonary consultative services at affiliated hospitals and sleep disorders center.  In addition to providing full-time direct patient care, the physician will teach medical students and fellows.  Production based clinical compensation offers salary competitive with private practice. Comprehensive benefit package includes pension programs, professional liability coverage and health/dental.

Minimum qualifications: Sensitive to the needs of underrepresented minority populations; Graduate of accredited medical school program; Graduate of formal specialty training program in Pulmonary Medicine; Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine or eligibility for ABIM; Diplomate of the American Board of Pulmonary Medicine or eligibility for Pulmonary Board; Licensed to practice medicine in the State of Illinois or eligible for such licensure. Graduate of formal ACGME accredited specialty training program in Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine and/or Critical Care; American Board of Internal Medicine board certified/eligible in Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine and/or Critical Care Medicine; desired.  This position has been designated as security sensitive and employment is contingent upon the results of a background investigation.
