Mercy Health Physicians-Youngstown is seeking a board certified or board eligible orthopedic hand and upper extremity surgeon to join our Orthopedics and Sports Medicine department. Primary responsibilities include inpatient and outpatient clinical care for the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients who suffer from upper extremity musculoskeletal injuries.  This physician must possess procedural competence to enhance the function of patients affected body parts, heal injuries, and alleviate pain, which includes treatment of chronic and acute injuries in patients.  

The Mercy Health Physicians Youngstown Orthopedics and Sports Medicine practices are large and high volume in the region, with a total of 9 employed orthopedic surgeons including 3 fellowship trained in sports medicine, 3 general orthopedists, 2 fellowship trained in orthopedic trauma, and 1 fellowship trained in upper extremity and hand.  The orthopedic service line is experiencing growth and needs an additional upper extremity and hand specialist in orthopedics.  The call model includes 10 days of hand call per month, which 3 of those days will include orthopedic call at our level 1 trauma location with weekend and holiday rotation equally distributed.
