Yale New Haven Hospital and the Section of Cardiovascular Medicine is seeking outstanding applicants for sub-specialty fellowship training in peripheral vascular medicine and advanced endovascular intervention.

Yale New Haven Hospital & Yale University have fostered a truly unique training program in peripheral vascular medicine and interventions.  Fellows train in an extremely large volume of a wide variety of complex endovascular interventions including but not limited to lower extremity (including complex below the knee), carotid, subclavian, pulmonary artery as well as superficial and deep venous cases in addition to outpatient care.  There is additional structured didactic and practical training in vascular medicine and imaging which allows for RPVI board eligibility.

Our graduates have obtained positions at academic medical centers as well as directing high volume community based endovascular intervention programs.  With academic mentorship, all fellows generally publish one peer-reviewed manuscript and present at least one national meeting per year.

One year training program. The vascular medicine and endovascular intervention training program at Yale New Haven Hospital is one of the busiest programs in the country, and we care for thousands of patients with peripheral arterial disease each year. We are among the highest volume centers for critical limb ischemia and carotid artery disease.  Our fellows receive comprehensive training in the medical and interventional management of these patients within both the procedural and outpatient settings. The clinical pathway focuses on patient care and interventions in the catheterization laboratory, but we expect all fellows to pursue an academic interest within the field.  Typically, at least nine months will be dedicated to clinical responsibilities and up to three months will be reserved for research which fellows have typically written one peer-reviewed manuscript and presented at least one national meeting.

Fellows with particular areas of clinical or academic interest in cardiovascular medicine are encouraged to reach out to us to develop a uniquely designed training program that meet their academic and clinical goals.
