The University of New Mexico, Health Sciences Center, Department of Internal Medicine, seeks a faculty member to join the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine.  This position is for an Assistant/Associate, clinician educator track.  Salary and rank will be commensurate with experience and education. The division cares for a unique array of critically ill patients in a diverse, underserved population. As the only academic medical center for the state, opportunity exists for innovation in teaching and providing care for both rural and urban populations from diverse cultures.  We seek a clinician that will provide consultative services on the inpatient services and outpatient clinics.  We have a 24 bed MICU and a variety of specialized pulmonary programs.

 Minimum Requirements: 

  • Must be board certified in Internal Medicine; and
  • Board certified/eligible in Critical Care by date of hire.

Desirable Qualifications:  

  1. Experience working in academic intensive care units;
  2. Education of fellows and house staff in pulmonary and critical care;
  3. Evidence of scholarship with peer reviewed publications/national presentations;
  4. Administrative experience on hospital/ICU committees.

This position may be subject to a criminal records screening in accordance with New Mexico law.
