 The University of New Mexico, Health Sciences Center, Department of Internal Medicine, seeks a faculty member to join the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine.  The division cares for a unique array of critically ill patients in a diverse, underserved population. As the only academic medical center for the state, opportunity exists for innovation in teaching and providing care for both rural and urban populations from diverse cultures.  We seek a clinician that will provide consultative services on the inpatient services and in the outpatient NCI designated Cancer Center.  We have a 24 bed MICU and a variety of specialized pulmonary programs and the ability to do all Interventional Pulmonary procedures in our bronch suite.

This position is for an Open Track Assistant or Associate Rank faculty to work primarily doing pulmonary consults/EBUS and ICU work at UNMH ICU and outpatient pulmonary clinic/multidisciplinary lung cancer clinic.  Salary and rank will be commensurate with experience and education. 

Minimum Requirements: 

1) Must be board certified in Internal Medicine;

2) Board certified/eligible in Pulmonary and Critical Care by date of hire; and

3) Board eligible in Interventional Pulmonary by date of hire.

Desirable Qualifications:  

  1. a) Experience working in academic intensive care units;
  2. b) IP procedure experience via fellowship;
  3. c) Evidence of scholarship with peer reviewed publications/national presentations.
