Academic Director of Burn Surgery - in Texas
StartDate: ASAP

Academic program and Level I trauma center located in Texas is seeking a qualified candidate to serve as the Medical Director of our new burn program. In this leadership opportunity, you will participate in building, developing, and growing a Burn Program from the ground up.

The ideal candidate must be fellowship-trained in burn surgery and surgical critical care.
  • Participate in teaching medical students and residents as well as community outreach with local fire, police, and emergency departments.
  • Clinical responsibilities include a focus on Burn Surgery Monday–Friday, 8 am–5 pm, as well as participating in acute care surgery/trauma call 4 days per month.
  • The qualified individual will have an interest in developing a brand new center, growing this inaugural program.
  • Collaborative environment offering opportunity to participate in multi-disciplinary scholarly activity efforts—all faculty participate in academic efforts.
  • Strong sub-specialty support including plastic surgery, hand surgery, oral and maxillofacial surgery, and more.

Lead the development of a brand new Burn Center with the goal of becoming an ABA verified burn center.
