HEADLINE:   Baltimore, MD:  A BE/BC Endocrinologist is needed to join a busy hospital-based Endocrinology Department.  Fine Needle Biopsy and DEXA procedural skills are preferred but not required.  The Endocrinology  Department currently consists of six Board Certified Endocrinologists and several Nurse Practitioners.   However, the new Endo will be a replacement for one of their Endocrinologists.   Call is one month in every six months. This is an out-patient opportunity with in-patient consult responsibility. The new Endocrinologist can expect to do 90% clinical/10% teaching with Research and QI/PI opportunities available.  Clinically supervises residents and medical students as assigned by the Division Director/Chair. Employed by teaching hospital.  $ Very competitive financial package.

PRACTICE OPPORTUNITY:

  • Located in Baltimore, Maryland, a BE/BC Endocrinologist is needed to join a busy hospital-based Endocrinology Department.
     
  • Availability:  Endocrinology fellows completing their fellowship training in the summer of 2020 and Endocrinologists who have prior work experience and are already practicing are all welcome to apply and will be seriously considered.
     
  • Procedural Skills:  Fine Needle Biopsy and DEXA procedural skills are preferred but not required.
     
  • The Endocrinology Department currently consists of six Endocrinologists and several Nurse Practitioners.
     
  • However, the new Endocrinologist will be replacing one of their Endocrinologists.
     
  • The replacement Endocrinologist will step into a turnkey operation and be busy from day one! 
     
  • This is an out-patient opportunity with in-patient consult responsibility.
     
  • The new Endocrinologist will work at a stellar teaching hospital and a nearby community-based office location. 
     
  • The replacement Endocrinologist can expect to do 90% clinical/10% teaching with Research and QI/PI opportunities available.
     
  • There is opportunity to participate and mentor medical students and residents in clinical and QI research projects in this hospital’s freestanding Internal Medicine Residency Program.   There is onsite nursing and APP support. 
     
  • The replacement Endocrinologist will step into a turnkey operation and will be busy from day one! 
     
  • Call is one month in every six months.   
     
  • This Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism offers expertise in the following areas:   Endocrinology, Nutrition, Bariatrics, Preventative Cardiology, Lipid Management, Diabetes, Lipid Disorders, Bone Problems, Women's Health, Calcium Disorders, Osteoporosis, Pituitary Disease, and Thyroid Disease in Pregnancy.

 

  • Providing comprehensive endocrine consultative services to patients with a wide variety of endocrine and metabolic disorders, including:

 

  • THYROID DISEASES:
     
  • Diabetes
  • Lipid disorders
  • Osteoporosis and calcium disorders
  • Hypogonadism in men and women
  • Androgenic disorders in women
  • Diseases of the pituitary and adrenal glands
     

 

DIAGNOSTIC AND TREATMENT SERVICES INCLUDE:

  • Thyroid ultrasound and biopsy
  • Radioiodine therapy for hyperthyroidism and thyroid cancer
  • Bone densitometry (DEXA scanning)
  • Onsite Continuous Glucose Monitoring assessment (CGM) in patients with diabetes
  • Insulin pump therapy
  • Onsite Diabetes education Diabetes Resource Center.
     

 

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Clinically supervises residents and medical students as assigned by the Division Director/Chair.
     
  • Clinically supervises inpatient Physician Assistants when on call.
     
  • This well-established Endocrinology group is part of a very large active medical staff of physicians at a large teaching hospital.
     
  • Most of their Specialists have an academic affiliation at several prestigious medical schools!
