Academic OB/GYN Generalist

Cooper University Hospital, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, is seeking a Board Certified/Eligible Obstetrician/Gynecologist to join the faculty in the Division of General Obstetrics/Gynecology. The division supports a busy hospital based practice consisting of 13 fulltime obstetrician/gynecologists, 2 part time gynecologists, and 5 nurse practitioners.

Responsibilities of the Academic Ob/Gyn Generalist include, clinical practice, education of residents and medical students, assurance of quality care and participation in research.  The practice population includes a variety of high risk obstetrical patients and complex gynecologic patients from throughout the southern NJ region.  The practice enjoys a strong relationship with a variety of subspecialty services including: Maternal Fetal Medicine, Pediatric Gynecology, Gynecologic Oncology, Reproductive Endocrinology/Infertility and Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery. 

Cooper University Hospital, located in Camden, NJ, is a Level III Regional Perinatal Center and Trauma Center, well-known for providing high quality care.  The hospital is easily accessed from multiple Southern New Jersey suburban locations or from Philadelphia by car or public transportation.  New York City and the Pocono Mountain resort areas are just two hours away.  This sought after locale is also just an hour away from the Jersey Shore. 

Cooper University Hospital is the major teaching hospital for Cooper Medical School at Rowan University (CMSRU).  Since 2011, this relatively new medical school has promoted major innovative programs in medical education focusing on, service to the community and preparing future physicians to flourish in the changing healthcare environment. 

The faculty practice in Ob/Gyn includes the care of women from a variety of demographic areas in both the inpatient and outpatient arenas.  The cornerstone of the practice is of the development of long-standing patient relationships.  Surgical procedures are performed both in the hospital and in our outpatient surgical center in Voorhees. The Academic Ob/Gyn Generalist  will see patients in our suburban outpatient offices, cover the Labor and Delivery Suite, take both in and out house call, and participate actively in our mission of education by teaching  residents and medical students in both the inpatient and outpatient arena.
