Position Title: Neurointerventional Specialist

Req #  03964

The University of Chicago’s Biological Sciences Division (BSD) seeks a neurointerventional specialist (this individual may be from a background in Radiology, Neurosurgery, or Neurology) for a full-time faculty appointment at any rank.  The University of Chicago Medicine is a Level 1 Trauma Center (adult and pediatric) as well as a Joint Commission Certified Comprehensive Stroke Center.   Responsibilities will include diagnostic and interventional vascular procedures, vertebroplasty/kyphoplasty, RF ablation treatments, CT or fluoro guided biopsies, and pain procedures (nerve root, nerve, facet blocks).  Participation in a variety of multidisciplinary conferences as well as daily fellow, resident, and medical student teaching and supervision is expected.  The appointee is expected to contribute non-neurointerventional clinical or research activities depending on his/her primary specialty.

Academic rank and compensation (including a generous package of fringe benefits) are dependent upon qualifications.  Primary appointment will be in the specialist’s primary certification department (Radiology, Surgery:Neurosurgery, or Neurology), with secondary appointment(s) as appropriate.

Faculty members have dedicated academic time with many opportunities available to develop research interests in collaboration with our strong basic science group as well as other clinical and basic science departments throughout the campus.  The appointee will work within the Multidisciplinary Neurovascular Team described at https://www.uchicagomedicine.org/conditions-services/neurology-neurosurgery/neurosurgery/neurovascular-surgery.

Prior to the start of employment qualified individuals must: 1) be Board certified or eligible in Radiology, Neurology, or Neurosurgery, 2) have completed an interventional neuroradiology fellowship or equivalent, and 3) have an active medical license in the state of Illinois.

To be considered, those interested must apply online at the University of Chicago's Academic Career Opportunities site at academiccareers.uchicago.edu/applicants/Central?quickFind=55874 by uploading a CV and cover letter. Review of applications will continue until the position is filled.
