About the Community

Somerset, Kentucky, is located near Lake Cumberland. With activities like hiking, camping, boating, water skiing, jet skiing and fishing, 50,000-acre Lake Cumberland is one of the largest recreational lakes in the state. A fisherman's dream, Lake Cumberland is loaded with crappie, bream, walleye, trout, catfish, and all of the five species of bass (largemouth, smallmouth, white, Kentucky, and rock).

There are many local county marinas and state parks in the area, such as Cumberland Falls State Park that is the location of the 2nd largest waterfall in the eastern U.S. and is one of only a few known locations in the world where moonbows regularly appear.
