Current volume for the program averages approximately 1,000 patients per year and 7% penetrating trauma cases per year.  The current staffing is 5 surgeons and hoping to increase to two additional surgeons.  HCA Virginia’s Chippenham Hospital is recruiting fulltime Critical Care/Trauma Surgeons to join a large private practice for their Trauma Acute Care Surgery (TACS) Division.  The level II program at Chippenham Hospital currently treats 1,000+ cases annually with 6-7% of those being penetrated wounds.  The program is expected to increase in the upcoming year due to community demand and the success of the program.

Qualified candidates:

  • Must be BC/BE in General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care
  • Must  hold current ATLS certification
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
