WellSpan Health, a sophisticated medical community in south central Pennsylvania, is seeking a Board Certified Maternal-Fetal Medicine Physician Administrator to join our established and thriving practice.

Position Summary

  • Secure employment with WellSpan Medical Group, a mature multi-specialty group that employs 1,500+ providers
  • The leadership position is 0.4 FTE or 2 days per week, the remaining time (0.6 FTE) is clinical
  • The MFM Physician Administrator will work collaboratively with the Women & Children Service Line, WellSpan Medical Group, Obstetricians, Midwives, OB/GYN Residents, Neonatologists and Nursing Staff to develop clinical protocols
  • MFM Physician Leader will serve as the Site Director (lead practice physician) in the outpatient practice
  • Our services also include OB/GYN, high-risk obstetrics, Midlife Services, Pediatric/Adolescent Gynecology, Breastfeeding, Urogynecology and Gynecologic Oncology
  • 7 MFM physicians and 3 CRNPs practicing at six outpatient regional sites as well as York Hospital
  • York Hospital has a Level III NICU with 5 Neonatologists and 24-hour in-house anesthesia services; in addition, Chambersburg has a Level II NICU and Ephrata Community Hospital has a Level III NICU
  • York Hospital has 8 residency programs including a fully accredited OB/GYN residency
  • MFM Physician Leader partners with the Chairs and the Directors of Nursing at each hospital to optimize operations, patient experience and employee/physician/APC engagement
  • Provide education for rotating students including: medical students, sonography students, genetic counseling students and APCs
  • Responsible for ensuring the development and implementing of perinatal patient-care policies and pathways as well as quality assurance reviews
  • Responsible for the MFM call schedule and coverage collaboration with the Practice Manager
  • Development of MFM virtual/telemedicine strategy and collaboration with the Practice Manager to deploy telemedicine services throughout the system
  • Attend and support department activities (rounds, special lectures, postgraduate courses, etc.)
  • Active affiliation to Drexel, Penn State and Thomas Jefferson with clinical faculty appointments
