Eugene Oregon, the second largest city in Oregon with a population of almost 168k and home to the University of Oregon and Northwest Christian University, blends a healthy dose of city textures, diversions, opportunities and amenities, with college town sensibilities. The Eugene-Springfield Oregon metropolitan area and county seat of Lane County is only 50 miles east of the Oregon Coast, and is well known for its natural environment, recreational opportunities (bicycling, running/jogging, rafting and kayaking) with a focus on the arts – which aptly describes Eugene’s official slogan as “A Great City for the Arts and Outdoors”.  The city is projected to play host to the 18th Track and Field World Championships in 2021, which explains why its also referred to as “Track Town, USA”. Eugene continues to attract a young, college educated and mobile population and is a magnet for high-tech industries, earning it monikers as the “Emerald Shire” and “Silicon Shire”. Eugene has quickly made a name for itself as a culinary hub in Oregon, with the city playing host to over 25 breweries, surrounded by award-winning wineries and offering a variety of fine dining options with a local focus.
