Associate Professor in Epidemiology, Tenure Track Faculty Position

The UCONN School of Medicine’s Department of Community Medicine & Health Care is recruiting a full-time Assistant or Associate Professor (or possibly Full Professor for an exceptional funding profile) to teach and conduct research in the area of epidemiology.  The topical focus for this position is less important than having outstanding capacity for research and teaching. The person filling this position should have a federally funded research portfolio and an excellent publication record as first or senior author in respected academic journals.  Experience as a course instructor and mentor to graduate students and post-doctoral fellows is desired.

The Department of Community Medicine & Health Care directs the University’s public health program offering an MPH, PhD and a variety of certificates in addiction research, disabilities and disparities.  The department is also a key contributor to the medical/dental curriculum. The department has faculty that conduct research on a wide range of diseases, substance abuse, the environment and health systems, both domestically and globally. Department faculty maintains extensive associations with international, national, state and local health agencies. The successful candidate will commit to teaching in our MPH and PhD programs, participating in departmental and institutional committees, and to forming new collaborations within the department and across the university. On-going application for extramural research funding is expected. 

An earned doctorate in epidemiology (or biostatistics if focused on applied epidemiology methods) is required. This is a 12-month full-salary tenure track position.
