We are actively seeking a BC/BE Fellowship Trained Orthopedic Surgeon to join our growing 26 member Orthopedics team consisting of 17 Orthopedic Surgeons, 1 Physiatrist, and 9 Physician Assistants. SSM Health Medical Group has over 487 employed physicians in the St. Louis area, including a large primary care base which results in a strong referral network.

The ideal candidate will be a BC/BE Orthopedic Surgeon fellowship trained in Adult Reconstruction. The group is seeking a candidate with excellent clinical skills and experience in the full range of general orthopedic care.

The practice is located at SSM Health St. Clare Hospital. ED Call responsibility currently consists of approximately 3 days of coverage per month with additional call opportunity available for a surgeon looking to jump start their practice.

Qualifications

  1. M.D. or D.O.
  2. BC/BE Orthopedic Surgery (must become BC within 2 years)
  3. Successful completion of a fellowship in Adult Reconstruction/Joints
  4. Missouri Medical License
  5. DEA certificate
  6. ACLS certification

Essential Skills, Knowledge and Experience

In addition to clinical skills, the candidate must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, professionalism with an emphasis on integrity, a commitment to excellence, and ethical principles of clinical care. Also required are an ability to exercise confidentiality of patient information, informed consent, demonstration of respect, and regard for patient needs. All SSM physicians are expected to adhere to the basic SSM Health values of Excellence, Integrity, Teamwork, Service, and Initiative.

Computer literacy, including MS Excel and electronic communication skills are required. Physicians must be comfortable and proficient with EPIC electronic health record system, utilizing electronic tools such as email, mychart, PACS, LMS, etc. Timely completion of medical records is a requirement. Some weekends and extended hours may be required.
