MercyOne is seeking a BC/BE Trauma Surgeon with a passion for teaching to join our acute care surgery service. The selected candidate will receive an academic appointment at Des Moines University and will be faculty of the Mercy General Surgery Residency program.  The role offers competitive compensation including a sign on/retention bonus, paid malpractice and a generous retirement program.

  • BC/BE General Surgery w/Fellowship Training in Surgical Critical Care and/or Trauma.
  • Teaching and research experience
  • Faculty Responsibly: Emergent general surgery & trauma, inpatient rounding, including critical care, continuity clinic follow-up/post-op patients, facilitates education of Residents/Med Students, Trauma/ACS call rotation (one locations), supervision of APC’s
  • AOA/ACGME Accreditation
  • 5 year non-pyramidal program
  • Graduates span the US serving rural & urban areas
