Prepare and review case histories and obtain data through interviews of patients. Examine patients and determine required x-ray examinations, clinical laboratory tests, and diagnostic as required. Interpret tests results and evaluate findings. Prescribe specific medication(s), diet, and/or treatment modalities. Admit and discharge patients to the wards appropriately for ailments or diseases. Initiate and oversee specialty consultation service request. Confer with the appropriate specialist as necessary. Make necessary rounds to inpatients, as needed. Provide consultation services for members of the Military Treatment Facility (MTF) staff for purposes of specialty area training. As required, the contracted HCP will serve in a teaching capacity to staff members assigned to the MTF and ambulatory clinics. Maintain accurate clinical records and receiving consultations and laboratory work of specific patients. The HCP shall complete medical charting within 72 hours of patient visit According to Joint Command (JC) guidelines. Provide advice and opinions upon request by the Chief of Primary Medicine or the referring physician in support of patient care and treatment. When necessary, provide a Statement on Evaluation of Fitness in accordance with AR-40-501 and provide timely completion of Medical Evaluation Board (MEB) dictation and paperwork. Shall be responsible for providing medical care during the required work hours, including routine calls, as designated by the MTF, and shall provide immediate evaluation and management of emergent problems as they occur. Shall assume additional administrative or clinical duties as requested or needed to ensure sustainment of normal clinic operations and ensure compliance with JC standards, to include, but not limited to managing daily schedules, reviewing and disposition consults, monitoring appointment utilization and patient access to care, conducting mandatory clinical training, monitoring clinic supplies and equipment, ensuring enforcement of clinic Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and standards, conducting monthly peer review, and attending staff meetings.

Possess one of the following: a Doctorate Degree in Medicine from an accredited college approved by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education and Hospitals of the American Medical Association, a Doctorate Degree in Osteopathy from a college accredited by the American Osteopathic Association, or permanent certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG). Successfully completed an Undergraduate Program, Medical School (M.D. or D.O.), Internship, and Residency Program.
