The Cook County Health and Hospitals System, located in Chicago, Illinois seeks a dynamic and innovative leader to fill the role of the Chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. This department provides comprehensive care in the fields of general obstetrics and gynecology as well as sub-specialties of maternal-fetal medicine, uro-gynecology, gynecologic oncology and family planning. The current Ob/Gyne department consists of sixteen physicians, four physician assistants and the combined Northwestern-Cook County residency program serving patients at two hospitals and multiple outpatient clinics.  

The Chair will be responsible for the strategic development and the day –to-day operations of the department across the Cook County Health and Hospitals System (CCHHS), with primary emphasis on providing oversight to and ensuring the quality and accessibility of patient care delivered by the Department’s clinic staff. Working with CCHHS leadership, the Chair develops a strategic vision for the Ob/Gyne Department and faculty, implementing programs and other initiatives that align with the mission and the goals of the Health System. The Chair will guide the department’s transformation within the evolving healthcare environment. 

The Chair candidate must hold an M.D. degree and board certification by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Minimum requirements of five years of post-residency clinic experience and  three years of administrative and management experience in a multi-faceted Ob/Gyne department preferably in an under served population in an urban environment. Completion in a Ob/Gyn sub-specialty fellowship and bilingual fluency would be preferred but not mandatory. The Chair should be currently eligible for or already is an Associate Professor or Professor.
