The Department of Medicine at the Louis Stokes Cleveland Department of Veterans Affairs (LSCDVA) is seeking one full-time staff physician interested in a Nocturnist Acute Medicine position.  Principal clinical responsibilities include overnight patient care duties on the inpatient medical wards, in our Community Living Center (CLC), and overnight coverage in the Emergency Department will be required. Candidates will be eligible for faculty appointment at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine commensurate with experience.

The successful candidate will be part of an interdisciplinary team delivering patient-focused, quality care in the Emergency Department, CLC, and inpatient wards.  Candidate must also have effective communication skills and work cooperatively with all staff that care for patients and their families.  Clinical responsibilities include direct patient care and advanced practice provider supervision. As an Acute Medicine Physician, you will provide medical treatment and personal care services to ill and injured veterans. 

Duties include documenting observations, assessments, and changes in patient's condition; collaborating with health team members to facilitate positive patient care outcomes; ordering appropriate diagnostic tests, performing procedures, and meeting performance measures. 

Our facility is seeking individuals who possess good organizational skills and the ability to establish effective communication with patients, families, visitors and members of the interdisciplinary team.

Preferred qualifications:  Board Certified/Board Eligible in Internal Medicine. Candidates must have an MD or DO degree and an unrestricted medical license. Experience in teaching residents and medical students.

Tour of Duty:  Will work a flexible tour of duty in order to accommodate patient care needs.  Shifts are generally 10 to 12-Hour shifts (typically 10p-8a or 8p-8a) through weekdays, weekends and federal and non-federal holidays as staffing requires.
