Ob Hospitalist Group has partnered with this facility to develop and manage a program that provides 24/7 emergent care to expectant mothers.

As an OBHG hospitalist, you are the in-house expert whose advanced clinical skill and ability to handle any OB emergency dramatically improves patient safety and satisfaction.

You will work closely with local OB/GYNs to ensure that every pregnant woman who presents to the hospital is cared for by an experienced physician, every time.

Hospital Information

The hospital has grown tremendously since its founding in 1898. It opened in its current location in 1917 and has undergone numerous expansions and renovations. They are proud recipients of the Women’s Choice Award for Providing Overall Patient Experience as well as the Best-in-Class Seal of Honor. The local providers have fully embraced the Ob Hospitalist Group OB/GYN hospitalist program and the hospital proudly promotes our services to the Ashland community. The hospital is one of only four Level III NICUs in the state. In addition to specially trained nurses, two full-time neonatologists provide round-the-clock care for premature babies and newborns with special medical needs.

Arts and Entertainment

Being on the shore of the Ohio, it's no surprise that many outdoor activities in Ashland revolve around the water. Nearby scenic locales Carter Caves State Park, Greenbo Lake State Park, Yatesville Lake State Park and Ohio's Lake Vesuvius Recreational Area abound with opportunities to enjoy boating, skiing, swimming, fishing, camping or hiking.

Additionally, Ashland has numerous 18-hole golf courses and one of the best tennis centers in the Bluegrass State. Residents are fortunate to be able to enjoy an afternoon or evening at one of the city's fine restaurants or attend a performance at the downtown Paramount Arts Center followed by a relaxing stroll through the park or along the riverfront.

Education

There are seven public schools and two private schools in Ashland. Public schools are operated by the Ashland Independent School District. Ashland has five public elementary schools, Hager Elementary, Oakview Elementary, Crabbe Elementary School, Poage Elementary, and Charles Russell Elementary. There is one public middle school, Ashland Middle School and one public high school, Paul G. Blazer High School. The two private schools serving the Ashland area are Holy Family School and Rose Hill Christian School. Post-secondary educational opportunities include Ashland Community and Technical College which has multiple campuses. Morehead State University also has a satellite campus located in Ashland.
