The DC Health Hub is a de novo clinic in Washington, DC aiming to combine a best-in-class consumer experience with an evidence-based clinical approach. The DC Health Hub provides complete women’s healthcare to keep a patient well and fulfilled. We offer a full suite of services including gynecology, obstetrics, primary care and mental wellness to empower women to be the best version of themselves.

General Position Summary

We are seeking forward-thinking doctors who are interested in shaping the future of women’s healthcare. The role is perfect for an obstetrician/gynecologist who provides excellent patient care while demonstrating a passion for innovation and technology. The position requires a provider with practice development experience comfortable working in a fast growing, dynamic company. The ideal candidate is a skilled OB/GYN who is comfortable providing the full range of obstetric and gynecological services including routine well woman care, labor and delivery, and hospital-based/outpatient surgeries to a socioeconomically, culturally and medically diverse patient population.

I. INNOVATION AND OPERATIONAL RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Possess a “roll up your sleeves” attitude – willing to partner with Advantia team to build and launch a successful de novo practice
  • Build model of care for gynecology and obstetrics in a new innovative health hub located in Washington DC, including marketing, workflows, processes, technology integration and training for staff
  • Assist with OB/GYN clinical and business operations within the practice as well as support hiring
  • Maintain a spirit of continuous improvement and implement changes to the care model as needed
  • Implement perinatal models of care over time to be successful in value-based payment contracts
  • Partner with the Advantia product team to drive high quality care and consumer experience that exceeds patients’ expectations and translates to high patient retention
  • Support enhancements of technology tools to drive higher quality and consumer experience
  • Collaborate to define and track key quality and operational metrics that ensure quality performance in OB/GYN care
  • Thrive in a collaborative environment, working seamlessly with other providers and members of the care team

II. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Demonstrate alignment with the organizational mission, vision, and values
  • Monitor and treat patients during pregnancy and childbirth, including prenatal and postnatal care; willing to collaborate with a midwife as necessary
  • Demonstrate a solid record of providing high-quality, routine women’s health care, including skills in the diagnosis and treatment of gynecological and obstetrical conditions
  • Conduct follow-ups with patients to monitor and track their condition(s), including use of telemedicine
  • Show working knowledge of pharmaceuticals, side effects and potential problems with medicine combinations
  • Demonstrate the ability to recognize signs of physical and emotional abuse in a patient
  • Demonstrate the willingness and ability to render culturally competent care to a socioeconomically, ethnically, and linguistically diverse patient population
  • Direct, advise, and supervise medical staff including nurses, nurse practitioners, medical assistants, etc. on proper procedures and protocol
  • Participate in on-call coverage at the hospital for obstetrical and gynecological urgent and emergency services
  • Be comfortable ensuring an adequate patient flow in a busy, outpatient clinic with a mix of scheduled and same-day appointments
  • Continue personal education on current medical practices and innovations by reading medical journals, attending conferences, etc.

IV. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND SPECIAL LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS NEEDED TO PERFORM YOUR JOB:

  • Be a graduate of an accredited school of medicine and possess Board Certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology
  • Valid license to practice in the District of Columbia
  • 2+ years practicing medicine in hospital or private practice
  • Proficient at patient charting in electronic medical records and overall comfort with technology
