Tulane University School of Medicine seeks an academic leader to serve as Chair of the Medicine Department. The Department has a diverse and growing clinical practice providing services to the Tulane University affiliates. The Department’s research endeavors currently focus on both basic and translational science. The Department has a fully accredited General Internal Medicine Residency and 11 subspecialty Fellowships. The Department is integrally linked to the School of Medicine’s teaching mission at multiple levels.

Candidates should have an outstanding track record of funding and well published research with a national/international reputation. The successful candidate is expected to lead the Department’s goal of an expanded research effort and to synergize with clinical and translational investigators in the broader Tulane University environment. A record of current or past extramural funding is required. The candidate should have experience in leadership and administration and be adept at communicating with a broad constituency in the hospital, teaching, and academic settings. Candidates must be Board Certified.
