The Department of Surgery at The Alpert Medical School of Brown University and Rhode Island Hospital are seeking a senior-level surgeon and faculty member with special expertise in hepato-pancreatico-biliary surgery to serve as Chief of the Division of General Surgery. Faculty appointment will be at the Associate Professor or Full Professor rank at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University, contingent upon qualifications.

The successful candidate will join a large and diverse academic faculty in the Department of Surgery, with long-standing expertise in complex pathology of the liver and pancreas, a renowned surgical oncology program, a nationally recognized trauma division, and a robust division of surgical research that has been continuously NIH-funded for the last several decades. In addition, Rhode Island Hospital and its pediatric division, Hasbro Children’s Hospital, serve as the region’s only tertiary care medical center and the medical school’s main academic institution.

University Surgical Associates, Rhode Island Hospital and Brown University are EEO/AA employers and are committed to increasing the diversity of its faculty. We welcome nominations and applications from minorities, women, and individuals with varied experiences, perspectives and back grounds, which would enrich the institutions’ research, teaching and service missions.

Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled or the search is closed.  To see further information regarding this opportunity and to apply online, go to http://apply.interfolio.com/64199  or access via the link below.
