Saint Alphonsus Medical Group (SAMG) has an excellent employment or professional service agreement opportunity for a Board Certified Internal Medicine physician who is Fellowship trained and Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pulmonary Medicine at Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center (SARMC) located in Boise, Idaho.
SAMG is a physician led 450+ provider multispecialty group with a multi-disciplinary team approach to patient care. This is a robust ICU and outpatient practice, providing services for a full spectrum of complex, critically ill patients at the tertiary Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center (SARMC) - Boise, the community Saint Alphonsus Medical Center – Nampa, and at the SAMG Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine outpatient clinic in either Boise or Nampa. SARMC is the principal provider of advanced, innovative and interdisciplinary critical care services within the region.
Requirements for this opportunity include successful completion of an accredited ACGME/AOA Internal Medicine residency program and Pulmonary Medicine fellowship program. Board Certification in Pulmonary Medicine is required (with additional Critical Care Board Certification preferred) through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) or American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine (AOBIM) or obtain such certification within 3 years of employment. The selected candidate must be eligible to obtain Idaho and Oregon medical licensure, granting of privileges at SARMC- Boise, SAMC- Nampa, and other health system affiliated hospitals as needed, a DEA as well as valid controlled substance registration with the Boards of Pharmacy.
The schedule for this opportunity is 182 shifts annually which includes rotations of ICU days, nights, and clinic. The physician must possess a sincere desire to practice in a high acuity ICU setting, managing the treatment of complex, critically ill inpatients while maintaining a collaborative relationship with the adult hospitalist medicine service and other specialists. They will also practice intermittent robotic telemedicine consultation, and a high quality outpatient clinic encompassing all aspects of pulmonary medicine.
Support for the Pulmonary Critical Care physicians at Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center includes Trauma, Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery, Neurosurgery, Endobronchial ultrasound and navigational bronchoscopy services. Saint Alphonsus Medical Center in Nampa is an 18-bed ICU, provides all standard ICU procedures including therapeutic and diagnostic bronchoscope.

Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center – Boise, Idaho, is a 387 bed regional medical center serving people throughout the Northwest and is the principal provider of advanced, innovative and interdisciplinary services. It is also the region's only ACS verified Level II Trauma Center whose annual trauma volumes exceed 1,250 with over 400 patients with an ISS>16. Trauma is predominantly blunt in nature. There are a wide range of subspecialty services available 24/7, including strong trauma/surgical critical care, neurosurgical coverage, in-house interventional radiologists, vascular surgeons, cardiothoracic surgeons and fellowship trained intensivists and cardiologists.
