Saint Alphonsus Medical Group (SAMG) and Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center – Boise and have an opportunity for an Occupational Medicine, Family Medicine or Emergency Medicine physician to lead a clinic based Occupational Medicine practice located in the Boise, Idaho metro area with outreach clinics to Nampa, Caldwell and Fruitland.

Saint Alphonsus Medical Group (SAMG) is a 425+ provider multispecialty group practice that has an excellent full time employment opportunity for a physician who is committed to a multi-disciplinary team approach to patient care and who is willing to support the growth of an Occupational Medicine practice as part of a dedicated Occupational Medicine program.

Responsibilities for this opportunity include management of Occupational Medicine patients in collaboration with the patient’s employer and/or surety.  This involves direct management of the patient including, but not limited to, the following: exams, procedures and services, employment physicals, workers' compensation treatment and follow-up, vaccinations, drug screenings and more. The physician would be responsible for ordering, interpreting and evaluating laboratory and diagnostic data, prescribing medications and developing a treatment plan.

The ideal candidate will also direct the staff and programs of the occupational medicine department as the medical director, develop and introduce approved standards and guidelines for occupational medicine and programs. The candidate will maintain working relationships with local industries in order to ensure their needs are met.  The physician will also ensure compliance with standards of care and practice in accordance with all established policies, procedures, and guidelines used in the medical treatment facility and request timely consultation or referral with appropriate physicians, clinics, or other health resources as indicated. 

The schedule for this opportunity is Monday through Friday, with no fewer than 34 hours of scheduled patient contact time.  The clinics are closed weekends and holidays and there is no call associated with this opportunity. 

The qualified candidate will exude passion about Occupational Medicine health issues and demonstrate evidence of comprehensive assessment skills, expert clinical skills and problem solving abilities. The candidate should also have knowledge of OSHA and health and safety regulations and will be on the FMCSA Registry. The physician must hold a valid controlled substance registration with both the Idaho Board of Pharmacy and the DEA.

Preference will be shown to candidates with prior Medical Director experience and who possess board certification or board eligibility in Occupational and Environmental Medicine.

Occupational Medicine clinics within Saint Alphonsus Health System utilize Systoc Ambulatory EHR, therefore experience with EHR systems is preferred.
