Physician - Anesthesiology, Pediatric Cardiac

The West Virginia University Department of Anesthesiology is seeking an experienced Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiologist to join the faculty practice in Morgantown, WV.

With an anticipated opening of early 2021, our new 150 bed Children s Hospital and Women s Pavilion will have a full suite of pediatric operating rooms, cardiac catheterization lab/interventional radiology, and GI-endoscopy with dedicated pediatric anesthesia staff. The hospital will include 34 pediatric beds, 54 NICU beds, 31 PICU beds, Heart Institute, and a dedicated Cancer Institute. WVU Medicine Children s is a Level 2 Pediatric Trauma Center, with plans to become Level 1, as it is for adults currently. The Women s Pavilion will house a 30-bed obstetrical unit and maternal-fetal medicine clinic. J. W. Ruby Memorial Hospital is the only hospital in West Virginia with a pediatric cardiac surgery program, the only epilepsy monitoring unit in the state equipped to serve children, and the only hospital in the state to receive Magnet status for nursing excellence.

Applicants must be BE/BC in Anesthesiology and Pediatric Anesthesiology with 5-10 years of experience. Candidates with additional specialty training in pediatric cardiac anesthesia or pediatric cardiac ICU are encouraged to apply; proficiency in advance neonatal cardiac anesthesiology required. Successful candidates must have an MD, MD/PhD or DO degree (the employer accepts foreign educational equivalent) and be eligible to obtain an unrestricted West Virginia medical license. In addition to excellent patient care, the faculty member will be actively involved in teaching anesthesiology residents and medical students.
