Faculty Inpatient and CRC Opportunities- Temple Health- Philadelphia, PA

The Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University announces the search for an Academic Inpatient Psychiatrist and a Crisis Response Center Physician.

Temple’s Episcopal Campus is the main location for Temple University Hospital’s behavioral health services, located just two miles from Temple University’s main campus, and five miles outside of Center City Philadelphia. Healthcare Services

At Temple Health – Episcopal Campus, area residents will find many of the healthcare services they need, including:

  • A 118-bed Behavioral Health Center, including 74 adult inpatient psychiatric beds, 44 adult extended psychiatric beds, a full-service outpatient program for adults and children
  • One of only four emergency Crisis Response Centers in Philadelphia
  • A full-service Emergency Department and Minor Care Center
  • A 21-bed inpatient unit

Inpatient Psychiatrist

The selected individual will also provide inpatient psychiatric management of patients with severe mental illness. The physician will be in charge of a treatment team which involves behavioral health therapists, nurses, mental health workers and a social worker. The program philosophy is a patient centered recovery model that encourages patients to take an active role in their treatment. The teams work closely with community agencies to facilitate reintegration of patients back into their community.

Crisis Response Center Physician

The psychiatrist in the Crisis Response Center is responsible for providing psychiatric evaluations and prescribing treatment for patients that present to the psychiatric emergency department. The selected physician will also make appropriate treatment recommendations and coordinate care with other disciplines and outside providers when necessary. The position requires a strong interest in teaching including bedside and didactic teaching and resident supervision. An interest in publishing or participating in research is preferred but, not required.
