Overview

Reading Hospital Rehabilitation at Wyomissing, part of Tower Health at the Reading Hospital (700 + beds) seeks an Inpatient Physiatrist to join its dynamic, interdisciplinary rehabilitation team. Join a growing team of 10 physiatrists who work closely with the Neurosurgery, Orthopedic and Trauma teams as well as the strong interdisciplinary team at the Rehab Hospital. You will have the opportunity to work in acute inpatient rehab hospital along with doing rehab consults in acute care as well as the outpatient office. This position is ideal for physiatrists with an academic, teaching and/or administrative background. On call requirement is around 1:9 weeks.

Job Summary

Opened in October 2009, our state-of-the-art facility features: 174,000-square-foot, three-story, free-standing rehabilitation hospital; 62-bed Rehabilitation Center, including an 11-bed secured Brain Injury Unit; 50-bed Transitional Care Center for skilled care; Aquatic therapy pool and outdoor therapy garden; On-site pharmacy, laboratory and radiological services. Our onsite outpatient PM&R office also has an EMG certified lab to better assess our patients. We offer highly specialized programs and services for patients in need of amputee rehabilitation, brain injury rehabilitation, neuromuscular rehabilitation, orthopedic rehabilitation, spinal cord injury rehabilitation, stroke rehabilitation and transitional care. Reading Hospital Rehabilitation at Wyomissing is the only hospital in the region accredited by both the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) and The Joint Commission. Our Stroke Specialty, Brain Injury, and Amputee Programs are also CARF-accredited.
