Overview

Due to extensive growth and community need, Reading Hospital/Tower Health is seeking a 3rd Dual-Trained Endovascular Neurosurgeon to join our experienced and highly respected neurosurgical practice that has served Berks County for nearly six decades. For the past two years Beckers' has ranked our Neurosurgery & Spine program on the top 100 in the nation.

Tower Health is developing a Neuroscience Center in response to the expanding Neurology & Neurosurgery volume as well as the growing community needs. In the past 4 years Tower Health has hired 16 Neurologist and 4 Neurosurgeons.

Job Summary

The ideal candidate must be fellowship trained in endovascular and open vascular procedures, have a strong interest in supporting the Comprehensive Stroke Program and be willing to perform general surgery as well as participate in trauma call; call will be 1:7.

• Surgical volume consists of spinal, brain and perperipheral nerves.
• The Neuro ICU is supported by 3 Neurointensivists; currently recruiting a 4th.
• The Neurosurgeons are supported by a strong team of Advanced Practitioners.
• The stroke program is driven by the busiest Emergency Department in PA with over 135,000 visits per year.

New surgical tower, HealthPlex is a 476,000 square foot state-of-the-art surgical and inpatient tower that opened in the fall of 2016 which feature:

• 24 surgical suites, including 6 hybrid capable operating rooms
• Stealth Neuronavigaton
• Zeiss Pentero Micoscope
• New Brain Lab

Qualifications

Position Requirements: MD or DO; Candidates must be licensed/eligible to practice medicine in Pennsylvania and BE/BC in endovascular and open vascular procedures; fellowship required.
