The Department of Radiation Oncology at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA currently seeks applicants at the Associate or Full Professor rank for a translational physician scientist or translational scientist position. The individual should be interested in leading efforts to bridge translational science research with clinical applications of cancer care, radiomics, genomics, immunology, computation‐based medicine, proteomics or bioinformatics. The ideal candidate will foster the growth and development of a state-of-the‐art cancer program while maintaining the strengths and building toward future success in cancer care and research.

The Department of Radiation Oncology offers cutting edge radiation treatment options across all service lines. Our unique science division is recognized nationally for research in tumor immunity and metabolomics, genomic biomarkers for cancer response and toxicity, radiation mitigation and cancer stem cells, complemented by our diverse range of clinical trials. Our medical physics division is known for innovations in image‐guided radiation therapy, adaptive radiation therapy, quality assurance, optimization, and building a state‐of‐the‐art outcomes registry system.

We are seeking a dynamic and visionary leader interested in promoting a culture of collaboration across disciplines both within the department as well as inter‐departmental relationship development across the UCLA campus. This is a tenured position with a state‐funded base salary. Applicants must have an MD, MD/PhD or PhD with a distinguished record of leadership, clinical excellence, expertise in mentoring junior faculty, and demonstrated commitment to translational research. A proven track record of scientific research productivity, sustained research funding, and national recognition for scholarship are highly desired. Clinician candidates must be eligible for California medical licensure, and be board certified in radiation oncology if radiation oncologists.
