Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon

MIHS/Maricopa Medical Center: Phoenix, Arizona

District Medical Group (DMG), one of the largest multi-specialty medical groups in Metropolitan Phoenix, has an immediate practice opportunity for a Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon.

The Surgery Department staffs Maricopa Integrated Health System (MIHS) at Maricopa Medical Center (MMC), which is a 250-bed academic community hospital and designated ACS and State of Arizona Level I Adult/Level II Pediatric Trauma/Level 1 Burn Center. MMC is an urban teaching hospital with a fully accredited ACGME General Surgery Residency, with the Plastic Surgery Division accepting resident rotators from the Mayo Clinic.   DMG is a faculty partner in the newly formed Creighton University Medical School educational alliance.  Additionally, MIHS has approved plans and funding to build a new hospital in accordance with a voter approved bond. The new facility is scheduled for completion within the next 5 years. 

The successful candidate must have completed Plastic Surgery residency training, be board certified or eligible; and previous faculty experience in an academic environment is preferred. This position will assist in developing the clinical service line, providing inpatient and outpatient general plastic and reconstructive surgery services in the elective and emergent care settings, shared call coverage, teaching residents and should be comfortable with a teamwork approach for patient management. The candidate will also have the opportunity to participate in collaborative research activities and most importantly developing and growing plastic surgery services.
