The Orlando, Florida VA Health Care System (OVAHCS) is in search of a Chief of Emergency Medicine.  Duties would include supervision of 10-20 emergency medicine physicians and 6-7 mid-level providers; and providing a full spectrum of emergency medicine services to a referral population of 120,000 veterans.  The new Lake Nona VA Medical Center is a state-of-the-art outpatient and 134 bed inpatient facility, with 24 ICU beds, located in Orlando’s “Medical City” at Lake Nona.  OVAHCS also has multi-specialty outpatient clinics at Lake Baldwin, Viera, Daytona Beach; and Community Based Outpatient Clinics at Kissimmee, Clermont, Tavares, and Deltona.  The ED sees, on average, 35,000 patients annually with high acuity patients.

The Chief of Emergency Medicine will be expected to participate in the education of Emergency Medicine residents, Internal Medicine residents, UCF-COM medical students, PA students, and students from other affiliated training programs and would have the opportunity to seek a faculty appointment with the UCF-COM.  Practice with any valid state license and receive a robust benefit package that includes full malpractice coverage, great health benefits, and a relocation/recruitment bonus. 

Work Hours: 40 hours, schedule is negotiable

Salary Range: $300,000 per year
