About SCPMG

The philosophy and beliefs of Southern California Permanente Medical Group are rooted in the founding principles of the Kaiser Permanente integrated managed care partnership established in 1945 between physicians and the Kaiser Foundation. That word – partnership – is important. We are a physician-led partnership with a mission to transform the practice of medicine.

At SCPMG, we continue to empower our providers to lead. We understand that our success is made possible through the skills, ambition and leadership of our physicians and professional staff. We invest in our physicians and staff through continuing education, training, technology support and a nation-leading Physician Wellness program. And to further the legacy of our philosophy we are investing in the future: the Permanente Medical School – scheduled to open in 2019 – will train future generations of doctors to practice responsible, ethical, collaborative and fulfilling medicine.

We continually improve the health and wellness of our patients, our physicians, and our communities with our equation of responsible, ethical and effective care.

Join us as we continue to deliver The Answer to Healthcare in America.

About the area

The Baldwin Park service area is located just east of downtown Los Angeles, within easy range of the major attractions, restaurants, and shopping of a world-class metro center. Yet it’s also 20 minutes from hiking trails in local mountains, and provides easy freeway access toward beaches, ski slopes, and deserts.

Working here

At Baldwin Park, we offer a high level of autonomy, in which physicians can feel they’re in control of their patient and can provide Permanente-quality care. Yet there’s a strong sense of partnership and teamwork: The medical staff know they’re always a quick phone call or hallway chat from receiving support and resources. In this collegial, flat-hierarchy environment, both personal development professional growth can thrive. For associates and partners alike, speaking up is not only encouraged, but expected: regular town hall meetings with the medical director encourage open dialogue and foster new ideas. And wellness is a big focus, with opportunities for bike rides, hikes, happy hours, and other social activities that promote partnership.
